The late-harvest Moscatel 2014 Colección 125 Vendimia Tardía from overripe grapes, was fermented in barrels where it was then matured. It's expressive and typical of the varietal without excess with some balsamic notes reminiscent of bay leaf, Muscat pulp, condensed mild and spicy notes from the oak. There are some 125 grams of unfermented sugar here, yet it doesn't feel too sweet and revealed good freshness, which to me is the secret to balanced sweet wines. 2,285 half-bottles were filled in December 2015.
