The 2009 ENTRE II SANTOS is a blend of Baga (55%), Castelao Nacional (a.k.a., Camarate--35%) and Merlot (10%), aged in used oak for approximately 6 months. It clocks in at 14.5%. This is not quite as easygoing as its price point might imply. Although it doesn’t have much depth, it does have some power and a relatively stern rather than sweet air. Credit the Baga, I presume. This somewhat gamey and earthy wine is bright and has some grip. It should be a great food wine. If you like its style, it is a nice deal at the price. Drink now-2016. Importer: Tri-Vin Imports, Mt.
