The 2012 Valtuille Cova de la Raposa comes from a sandy vineyard in a warm zone of Bierzo, a small vineyard whose full clusters were fermented in a 500-liter barrel and aged for one year in barrique It has a slightly volatile nose showing varnished wood and notes of apricot around a core of raspberries. The palate is medium to full-bodied, with great concentration and abundant tannins that are slightly hard and in need of polishing and calming down in bottle. It's a slightly rustic, wild style of Bierzo. Only 670 bottles.
