The proprietary red wine offering, the 1997 Terricci, is a blend of 80% Sangiovese, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and equal parts Cabernet Franc and Merlot. It is a compressed, complex, plum/purple-colored effort with plenty of chewy currant/cherry fruit, saddle leather, animal fur, earth, and graphite. Although approximately 70% new French barriques were utilized, the oak characteristic is subdued in the wine's aromas and flavors. The finish is moderately tannic.
