An offering from the ATP (advanced tasting program), the 1997 Zinfandel Nervo Vineyard (91% Zinfandel and 9% Petite Sirah that achieved 14.7% alcohol) possesses an overlay of spicy vanillin from American oak. At present, the oak has the upper hand, but it should become better integrated as this wine ages in bottle. Medium to full-bodied and fleshy, with low acidity and black cherry fruit, this should turn out to be a very good Zinfandel to drink over the next 3-4 years. Tel. (408) 867-3233
