Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2012 tasting in Beaune. The 2012 Meursault 1er Cru Sous le Dos D’Ane from Olivier Leflaive appears to have improved considerably since I tasted it just after bottling. It sports a pleasant reduction on the nose, but underneath it is very well defined with plenty of mineralité. The palate is well balanced with vibrant, citrus-driven fruit, plenty of finesse and elegance here with a refined, detailed and succinctly poised finish. Understated but beautifully crafted. I adjust more score accordingly.
