This is an outstanding value, particularly since the grape source is McLaren Vale, a great viticultural area not known for value-priced wines. The 2002 Shiraz is a 100% Shiraz aged nine months in French oak that tips the scales at 14.5% alcohol. Its dense purple color is followed by excellent chocolatey, blackberry, cherry, and toast aromas as well as flavors. With supple tannin, low acidity, outstanding purity, and surprising texture, it will drink well for 2-3 years.Importer: Peter Click, Click Imports, Seattle, WA; tel. (800) 859-0689
