Tasted blind at the 2007 Bordeaux horizontal in Southwold. I under estimated this out of barrel, possibly due to an unrepresentative sample. Here, the La Fleur-de-Gay has a lovely ripe, generous bouquet with macerated dark cherries , wild strawberry, sous-bois and a hint of dried honey. The palate is very well balanced with pointed acidity on the entry, good weight of fruit, very classic in style with a slightly austere finish, but full of character and precision. Excellent.
