Oddly, the 2006 Chardonnay Savoy Vineyard seemed less impressive than its three siblings. A Chardonnay made as if it were a French Chablis, it offers notes of lemon blossoms, white peaches, and other stone fruits. No wood is evident in this medium to full-bodied effort with crisp acidity as well as a refreshing, pure style. To reiterate, these are all brilliant white wines ... don’t miss them. Moreover, the pricing is remarkably fair.These wines were a remarkable discovery. Anderson Valley is becoming one of the “hot” new cool climate sources of not only white varietals, but also increasing quantities of high quality Pinot Noir. Breggo Cellars’ label pays homage to what used to be a robust sheep farming area, now replaced by grapevines.
