From further east on the Sorrentine Peninsula, the Marisa Cuomo 2018 Costa d'Amalfi Ravello Rosso Riserva is Piedirosso in a leading role (at 70% of the blend) and Aglianico in a supporting role. Vineyards in Ravello are located at slightly lower elevations compared to Furore (at 400 meters in elevation compared to 550 meters), but the dolomitic calcareous soils are similar in both sites, so are the immediate influences of the brilliant blue sea that dominate the landscape. This wine has a slightly wild character with forest berry and bramble, tarry smoke and perfumed red lilac or rose. This medium-bodied red is vibrant and fresh. Exactly 9,060 bottles were made.
