The 2009 Syrah Larner boasts tons of richness and depth. Firm tannins support the fruit in this powerful, juicy Syrah. There isn’t a ton of varietal character in the glass, but readers who like the opulent, fruit-driven side of Syrah will find much to admire here. Sleek, silky tannins frame the finish. The 2009 was fermented with 40% whole clusters and aged for 22 months in French oak barrels, 60% new. Anticipated maturity: 2012-2019.
I found a lot to like in these new releases from McPrice Myers. The wines are made from a variety of appellations in the Central Coast.
