Admirers of Ridge's Petite Sirah from York Creek will not be disappointed with the black-colored, concentrated, full-bodied 1988. While it does not possess the richness of the 1987, 1986, 1985, or 1984, it is a top notch effort from what is generally a mediocre vintage. The nose reluctantly offers up aromas of licorice, pepper, and black-raspberries. In the mouth, it is spicy, full-bodied, and moderately tannic. Drink it between 1995-2010.
