The 2000 Castel del Monte Riserva Le More, adds a bit of Malbec to the local Nero di Troia, but it is the latter grape which is more felt. Inky ruby in color with raspberry-blackberry fruit and a light, well calculated oakiness, it is very firm and structured on the palate, ample in volume and big-framed, but with a slight graininess of tannins which give some astringency on the finish. Drink: 2006-2012. The 2001 version of this Riserva, created under the supervision of consulting winemaker Paolo Caciorgna, is a formidable wine indeed, and will change a lot of ideas about the potential both of Nero di Troia and this part of Puglia.A Marc de Grazia Selection, various American importers, including Michael Skurnik, Syosset, NY; tel.
