The 2003 Geol is a knock-out effort. From a high elevation vineyard, this blend of 79% Merlot and 21% Cabernet Sauvignon is the finest example of a Merlot-dominated wine I have ever tasted from Spain. Full-bodied, with tremendous intensity, a big, sweet nose of black cherries, cassis, smoke, and coffee, a voluptuous mouthfeel as well as texture, tremendous purity, layers of flavor, and a long, heady finish, it will drink well for 7-10 years.Importer: Eric Solomon, European Cellars, Charlotte, NC; tel.
