The 2009 Il Blu shows a hint of unripe tones of green or medicinal herb. Those verdant tones take a little effort to get past. Once you do, the wine brings full intensity and richness to the finish. Intense aromas of blackberries and currants follow through to a full body, with a gorgeous core of ripe fruit and ultra-fine tannins. It remains fresh and beautiful. So delicious now but better in 2015. A blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Best wine ever from here.
