The 2004 Coto de Imaz Gran Reserva seems to be more refined, with subtle aromas of spices, fine leather and macerated red cherries. The palate reveals a wine that is completely polished, very pleasant to drink, with a note of licorice and aniseed. Drink now-2016.
El Coto has a huge production (they can ferment 39 million kilos of grapes!) and a wide portfolio which is available worldwide. I selected the ones I favored from their different ranges because many of their wines are extremely similar to each other.
