Marisa Cuomo’s 2007 Costa d’Amalfi Fiorduva is one of the truly distinctive whites of Campania. The wine is a blend of Ripoli, Fenile and Ginestra, all indigenous varieties planted on the rocky terrains of the terraced vineyards in the Amalfi Coast, home to some of Italy’s most picturesque vistas. This mid-weight offering reveals the essence of jasmine, orange blossoms, ripe apricots and subtle toasted oak in a layered, beautiful, expression of notable elegance. I would prefer to enjoy this gorgeous white in its exuberant youth. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2011.
