Made from purchased grapes, the 2019 Riesling Red Stone opens with a reductive, very clear and upfront fruity bouquet of ripe Riesling intertwined with the typical notes of the red, clayish slate soils of the red slope along the Rhine River. This is a very delicate and straight, pure and Mosel-like Riesling in the off-dry style. It is very refreshing and elegant, a classic if you so will, that was bottled with a moderate 12% alcohol and some fruit-supporting grams of residual sugar. A great drinking pleasure. Tasted from AP 04/20 in May 2020.
