Harvested in early September, the medium to full-bodied 2003 Corton-Charlemagne is a hedonist’s delight. It explodes from the glass with complex aromas of toasty ripe pears, apples, melon balls, and spices. Broad, suave, and sporting a liquid velvet-like texture, this oily wine slathers the palate with buttered toast, pears, spices, and sweet apples. In addition, its extremely persistent finish offers additional layers of nutmeg and cinnamon-laced pulp-laden pears. Drink this beauty over the next 7-8 years.
