The 2008 Chardonnay Collezione De Marchi is a model of elegance and crystalline purity. Clean, mineral notes frame varietal fruit in this subdued Chardonnay. This graceful, elegant white seems to have more than enough stuffing to develop nicely over the next few years. I would be tempted to cellar a few bottles beyond that. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2018. Isole e Olena seems to fly under the radar, but insiders know better.
