The 2007 Premo Pinot Noir has a quite captivating nose, one that I would never place in New Zealand if I had tasted it blind. Very earthy and brambly, something that de Montille might conjure. The palate is well balanced, sweet raspberry and cherry fruit on the entry, just a little too much residual towards the finish. I want to like this wine but it just needs more restraint. But still and “interesting” Pinot Noir. Drink now-2012. Tasted April 2009.Importer: New World Wine Imports, Inc., 6316 Outlook Ave, Oakland, Ca 94605 Office: 510-636-4016, Fax: 510-380-7238, Leonie@nwwii.com
