From three parcels of 62-year old vines, the 2013 Chambolle Musigny Vieilles Vignes has a conspicuously deep color and yet it sports a taciturn nose that on this occasion, simply does not want to come out to play. The palate is quite dense and structured with toasty black fruit. It is well defined but it needs more personality and “Pinoté” to be expressed on the finish. Somehow it feels withdrawn at the moment.
