Chapoutier continues to turn out a Chablis-inspired white wine from his holdings in St.-Joseph. Both the 1992 and 1993 mineral-scented and flavored St.-Joseph Deschants blancs are beautifully made northern white Rhones. The 1993 possesses a floral, fragrant, apricot/peach-like bouquet, medium body, excellent ripeness, chewy, fleshy fruit, and crisp acidity. It displays a natural, pure feel. It should drink well for 5-7 years.Chapoutier's obsession with tiny yields and natural, pure wines that reflect the vineyard's terroir, soil, and varietal aromatic and flavor profile are well-displayed in his current and up-coming white wine releases.Importer: Paterno Imports, Chicago, IL; Tel.
