The 2012 21 del 10 is pure Syrah from 19-year-old vines in their Los Arcos vineyard on a slope rich in limestone. It fermented with indigenous yeasts in 1,500-liter open top oak vats and matured in barrel for 14 months. This is clearly a wine from a different era when the oak was playing a much more important role and steals the show in the nose with smoky and spicy aromas, roasted sesame seeds and some nuts. The palate shows similar flavors with a core of fresh fruit. Very good in its style, for fans of oaky reds. 2,600 bottles were filled in February 2016.
