With a 15.5% alcohol content derived from two months of air-drying, the Mamete Prevostini 2017 Sforzato di Valtellina Corte di Cama shows a fresh, almost menthol side to the Nebbiolo grape that gives extra lift and brightness to the bouquet. Immediately after those tangy herbal notes, the wine dives into darker fruit with blackcurrant, wild plum and pressed rose. This cheese-plate-friendly wine delivers a rather exciting and unexpected set of aromas that underline the unique personality that can be achieved with the Nebbiolo grape, especially in the Italian Alps. Once the wine settles onto the palate, you even get a note of unmistakable sweetness from the appassimento process. Some 14,000 bottles were crafted.
