Tasted blind at the Burgundy 2011 horizontal tasting in Beaune. The Corton-Charlemagne 2011 from Domaine de la Vougeraie has a linear and correct bouquet, with well-defined citrus notes, dried honey, quince and red apples. The oak is nicely integrated here. The palate is clean and crisp on the entry, harmonious and velvety smooth in the mouth. The oak vanillin comes on a little strong toward the finish but it is well crafted and seductive, albeit in a slightly more commercial style compared to Bonneau du Martray's.
