The 2006 Harmonium is a very pretty and well-balanced wine in this vintage. Sweet, floral notes emerge from a core of succulent dark cherries as the wine opens up in the glass. There is lovely depth and purity to the fruit here, along with tons of detail that emerges as the wine sits in the glass. Sweet notes from the French oak linger on a long finish that wraps everything together in style. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2012. This estate, located in the province of Trapani, is remarkable for the quality it achieves considering the total production approaches 5 million bottles. To put that number in perspective, it is roughly 50% of the total production of Barolo in a generous year.Importer: Soilair Selection, New York, NY; tel. (646) 244-4922
