The 2002 Alzania Seleccion, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Tempranillo, spent 16 months in mostly new oak. Purple in color, the nose offers up spice and a hint of olives. On the palate the wine is intensely flavored (red and black currants) with enough ripe tannin to support another 5-7 years of bottle age. Most wines from Navarra are budget priced quaffers but this winery appears intent on showing what can really be achieved in this region.Importer: Vinamericas Selections LLC, Miami Beach, FL; Fax (866) 229-3031
