The 2006 Elix is composed of 34% Garnacha, 24% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Carinena, and the balance Syrah and Merlot. It was aged in new French oak and bottled without fining or filtration. Garnet-colored, it has aromas of liquid minerality, smoke, underbrush, blueberry, and blackberry. Fruit-forward on the palate, the wine has plenty of tasty fruit but could use more depth.
