The 2007 MONTE DA PECEGUINA Tinto is a blend of Aragonez (50%) and Alicante Bouschet (25%), with dollops of Touriga Nacional, Cabernet Sauvignon and Tinta Caiada, aged for 7 months in French oak. The nose is distinctive, with combinations of red fruit, game and dried herb nuances. There was also a trace of funk on the nose that I feared was a little reductive. It largely blew off with thirty minutes of air, a good sign. It is bright and elegant, with a focused feel, another pleasant and charming Monte. There were 7,083 cases produced. Drink now-2014.
