The 1997 Crozes-Hermitage Vieilles Vignes comes from a well-known producer in l'Arnage. Michel Tardieu requested that I not reveal his sources for fear that other negociants would seek him out. The 1997 Crozes-Hermitage Vieilles Vignes boasts a dazzlingly thick black/purple color, and sweet, bacon fat, leathery, and cassis flavors. This full-bodied, beautifully rich Crozes-Hermitage reached 13.4%-13.6% alcohol naturally. It should drink well for a decade.
