Solid and intense, the first vintage of this wine to hit U.S. shores is an auspicious start. It’s lush and juicy, with a nose- and palate-caressing black cherry, mocha cream and chocolate profile. This Colorino-Merlot blend successfully pushes all the pleasure buttons while maintaining structure and showing substance. With a long, dry finish sporting soft ripe tannins, this is tempting now, but will be best from 2004–2010. Cellar Selection. ——W.E.(3/1/2002)—— 91
