The 1990 Fume Blanc is another gorgeous white wine from that vintage. The big, melony, herbal, fruity nose also displays the subtle influence of toasty oak. In the mouth, the wine exhibits surprisingly rich, opulent flavors, good acidity, and plenty of body, glycerin and alcohol in the luscious finish. Drink this excellent Sauvignon Blanc with fish or fowl over the next year. Grgich Hills rarely seems to miss a beat, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the vintage.
