The 2012 Friuli Colli Orientali Pinot Grigio shows a surprisingly fragrant side of the grape with bright aromas of white peach, lemon blossom and honeydew melon. Pretty floral intensity fills in the rear. This is a rather unusual and especially sophisticated expression of stainless steel Pinot Grigio. Mineral tones and bright acidity appear on the close. Drink: 2014-2016.
All these wines are imported to the United States with the exception of the Illivio white blend. No surprise, Livio Felluga has produced another knock-out collection of new vintages. The big news is the use of the recently-confirmed Rosazzo appellation on the estate’s top white wines, the Terre Alte and the Abbazia di Rosazzo.
