The 2004 Hacienda Pradolagar spent 22 months in new French and Russian oak. It delivers a splendid, already complex perfume of toasty new oak, spice box, violets, pencil lead, incense, blackberry, and black cherry that jumps from the glass. Full-bodied, layered, and rich on the palate, it has tons of savory fruit, succulent flavors, and exceptional balance. It will have a drinking window extending from 2015 to 2030. Marques de Vargas is a 665 hectare estate located in the Ebro Valley of Rioja Alta. All of their wines are bottled without fining or filtration.Importer: Steve Miles Selections, Denver, CO; tel.
