The 1998 Riesling Kastelberg, produced from 27 h/h yields, displays chalk, limestone, white berries, and slight hints of botrytis in its aromatics. Medium-bodied, broad, graceful, yet powerful, this concentrated, sweet herbal tea, spice cake, and pear-flavored wine has a sumptuous mouth feel. Magnificent to drink today, it should become even better with cellaring. Projected maturity: 2003-2012+.Importer: Wilson-Daniels, St. Helena, CA; tel (707) 963-9661.
