The 2010 Emma Zuccardi Bonarda was sourced from 32-year-old vines in Santa Rosa, with 60% of the wine aged in new French oak for 12 months. Earthy blue and black fruits, spice box, and balsamic notes make for an alluring bouquet. On the palate it displays plenty of savory herb and spice elements but lacks depth. Even so, it is a fine example of Bonarda, albeit at a hefty price for this varietal. Importer: Adam Sager, Winesellers Ltd., Niles, IL; tel. (847) 647-1100
