The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon, from a young vineyard planted on Kangaroo Island, is spectacular. It offers superb creme de cassis-like fruit intermixed with notions of smoke, graphite, crushed rocks, flowers, and black currants. This full-bodied, powerful, opulent red’s fruit and glycerin conceals significant tannin. Since it is made from young vines, I would opt for drinking it over the next decade.
