This is a blend of 60% Saint George (which translation this winery provides on the label rather than the Greek name Agiorgitiko) and the rest Moschofilero. Low in alcohol (12%) and rather light, it is also high in acidity with grapey, simple fruit reminding me a bit of basic Beaujolais. That means, though, that it is tasty and fun for what it is, with the good acidity cutting through the grapey fruit. The crispness combined with the low alcohol will make it refreshing and easygoing on a warm day. There is a certain mouthwatering quality on the finish due to the acidity. Ultimately, the acidity takes control here and this very much leans to the white wine side of the rose spectrum. Drink now.Importer: Diamond Importers, Chicago, IL; tel: (773) 549-6211
