Cigliuti has a well-deserved reputation for turning out some of Piedmont's most stylish and elegant wines. The 1988 Barbaresco Serraboella offers a complex nose of dried pit fruit, spicy wood, and an earthy herbaceousness. There is excellent ripeness, moderate tannins, medium to full body, and a moderately tannic, spicy finish. Although more evolved than many 1988s, it will benefit from 1-2 years in the cellar, and should last for a decade or more.
