LAST TASTED 6/94One of my all-time favorite "Best Buys" when I recommended it in the early days of The Wine Advocate, this wine surprised me in only one aspect - it has lasted much longer than I would have believed. It is holding on to its rich, cassis, cedary, spicy fruit, although some tannin is beginning to creep in, and there is a leathery character to the wine's finish. While not as outstanding as it once was, it is still a rich, albeit increasingly dry and austere Cabernet Sauvignon that could have been purchased for about $5 a bottle fifteen years ago.
