The 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon “Don David” is inky purple with a fine aromatic array of cedar, spice box, pencil lead, blueberry, and black currants. Medium bodied with some elegance as well as power, it has well-concealed tannin, excellent depth, and a long, pure finish. It will evolve for 2-3 years although most purchasers will opt for immediate gratification. Michel Torino was founded in 1892. Located in the Cafayate Valley in northern Argentina, the estate owns 700 hectares of vines, most of it farmed organically. Their offerings include several Best Buys noted at the end of this report.Importer: Frederick Wildman & Sons, New York, NY; www.frederickwildman.com
