Pale ruby-purple colored, the 2014 Aroha Pinot Noir is more closed on the nose than the straight Pinot Noir and seemingly more austere at this youthful stage, revealing subtle earthy/underbrush, black cherries and red currants character. It has nice firmness on the medium-bodied palate, with a commendable structure supporting a great core of fruit, and it finishes long and complex.
