Va Piano Vineyards, located in the Walla Walla AVA, began production in 1999. The winery’s 20-acre estate vineyard is supplemented by purchased fruit. The 2005 Syrah is opaque purple-colored. The attractive nose features smoke, pepper, spice box, and blue fruits. This is followed by a youthfully intense wine made in a racy style which narrows slightly in the moderately long finish.
