The 2005 Solanes is a blend of all five of the permitted Priorat grape varieties including 45% Carinena, 35% Garnacha, with the balance Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah aged for 14 months in seasoned French oak. Surprisingly light in color, the wine emits an excellent bouquet of damp earth, liquid mineral, smoke, black cherry, and blueberry.
