More reserved than the Vignerondes, the 2016 Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru Les Boudots unfurls in the glass with a brooding bouquet of wild berries, rich soil tones, Asian spices, dark chocolate and grilled game. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied, ample and broad, with considerable reserves of concentration and extract, framed by a large-scaled chassis of tannin that asserts itself on the long, stony finish.
