A good value from the Mediterranean coastal area of Penedes, the 1991 Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits a dark, saturated ruby/purple color and sweet, jammy fruit in the nose intertwined with scents of tobacco, aggressive herbal overtones (from young vines?), and obvious new oak. Despite the noticeable herbaceousness and wood, this wine possesses plenty of sweet, ripe, blackcurrant fruit in a medium to full-bodied, exuberant and forceful style. Although not complex, it is mouthfilling, as well as a sound value in Cabernet Sauvignon.
