The 2011 Turó de les Abelles show some development and made me think of an older wine. Quite dark and opaque, this blend of Garnacha and Syrah in equal parts was matured in French oak barrels for two years. It is quite spicy and smoky, vanilla, cinnamon, cloves, dark fruit and notes of peat and graphite. The palate is medium to full-bodied with ripe fruit and enough acidity. 1,850 bottles produced.
