The flagship 2004 La Plazuela is 80% Cencibel (Tempranillo) and 20% Garnacha with the Cencibel vines ranging in age from 90-105 years. Purple/black-colored, the wine displays complex aromas of earth, forest floor, mushrooms, espresso roast, black cherry, and blackberry. This is followed by a medium to full-bodied wine with attractive, spicy black fruit flavors and light tannin, but lacking the depth, breadth, and concentration needed for a higher score. Drink it over the next 6-8 years.
