The word “Cullerot” means tadpole, which is obvious when you see the label of this wine, made from a blend of indigenous local grapes. The 2012 Cullerot offers a deep ruby/purple color as well as abundant aromas of cranberries, black cherries and spice. With lofty glycerin and plenty of character, this opulently textured, luscious, serious red wine is an outstanding bargain. Even more remarkable is the fact that this wine was aged six months in amphorae (mud jars), but I guess that’s not so different from aging in concrete tanks. Consume it over the next 2-3 years.
